Node 1: (614) 268-9456 USR HST DS w/V.42bis (V.32) - Public Node
Node 2: (614) 784-8555 2400 baud Public Node [temporarily]
Ohio's USNetMail Hub
Requirements for Nodes Pulling Msgs from Ginger's Port Limited:
┌─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┐
│ ALL SysOps must first call and register with the USNetMail World HUB │
│ in Florida. This will be your HUB's initial contact with USNetMail │
│ and confirmation of your participation in the NET shall follow shortly. │
└─────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
*****************************************************************
* The required procedure for this initial logon is outlined in *
* the latest " Net Information Packet ". *
*****************************************************************
NEXT, follow the local HUB SysOp's instructions which are:
You should logon under your System's Name, that way if YOU would like
access to the system you can also log on as yourself without having to
worry about messing up your pointers for your mail runs.
New Users to this system are required to complete a Call Back verification,
this will be waived for any Node of USNetMail Providing you leave me a
comment on my board and FOLLOW THE NEW USER DIRECTIONS - the very
first question in the new user questionnaire asks "Are you a USNetMail
Node?" (This is YOUR SYSTEM - not you personally!) - answer [Y]es and
follow the directions from that point - leave me a comment and when I
receive notification of your acceprance into the NET, your system
will be granted net status.
Ginger runs her events at 12:00am Local (Eastern) Time, and is normally
completed by 12:30am - another round comes between the hours of
4:00am through 6:00am - 4-6am are mail run events and best avoided.
All USNetMail conferences are available here and the conference
numbers on my system mirror those of the World HUB - therefore, you
can rely on the conference numbers in the lates " US-mm-yy.ZIP " file
as being the SAME as those on Ginger's Port Limited.
At this time, Node 1 is the only high-speed line, operating an 'older'
USR HST Dual Standard modem - HST at 14,400bps and v32 at 9600bps.
Node 2 is (I'm sorry) 2400bps for the time being, but would be 'ok'
for you if you use PCPursuit - Columbus, OH may be accessed via
PCPursuit as " OHCOL ".
Ginger's Port Limited operates WildCat! 3.60M software and uses TomCat!
as the mail door. GINGER.QWK is the packet that will be created for you.
A sample " GINGER.CFG " will be made available for those using TNet,
hopefully any others that are needed (QNet, RNet or whatever) can
become availble, too).
Please examine the file area labelled "Net Mail Utilities & Info" for
any needed materials.
Please also Note, You will need to set your HOST Tagline to:
USNetMail = Ginger's Port Limited = Columbus, OH = 614-268-9456
The ='s are "equal" signs.
Any Questions or Suggestions should be directed toward PHILL TERRY at
Ginger's Port Limited.
